Climate
If Sun is what you want, sun is what you will get in this region. One of the most popular areas for resorts and spas, Guanacaste is a rolling spread of golden hills, verdant mountains and stunning white sand beaches. Average daytime highs range from 85 to low 90s F. The evening temps usually stay in the high 70s to low 80s. Water temperatures in the ocean average about 80 F. There is usually an ocean breeze, or trade wind. There are two distinct seasons in Costa Rica, the dry season (Dec- April) and the green season (May- November). The green season is cooler with occasional showers during the day. The dry season is always sunny, and the rain forest dries up and colorful trees bloom in various pastel shades. The Papagayo Trade Winds blow out of the mountains creating cool, dry, star filled nights.
